Our son, our Zay, lived with a joy and light that drew people in and lifted them up. In his honor, we created the Isaiah Lee Hazel Foundation to turn loss into purpose and open doors for young people.
Mission
The Isaiah Lee Hazel Foundation honors Isaiah’s legacy by providing scholarships and financial support to students facing financial barriers and learning differences. Through faith, compassion, and community, we strive to expand educational opportunities and empower students to pursue their dreams.
Vision
We are guided by a vision to create a world where every student—especially those facing financial hardship or learning challenges—has the opportunity, encouragement, and support to pursue higher education and achieve their dreams. Inspired by Isaiah’s spirit of love, laughter, and faith, we envision a community where kindness uplifts others, potential is recognized and hope opens doors to brighter futures.

Isaiah Lee Hazel Memorial Scholarship
The Isaiah Lee Hazel Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student from Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School or the University of Maryland navigating financial hardship and learning differences. Zay met everyone with unconditional love, never judgement. In that same spirit, we encourage students from all backgrounds to apply.
